Pre-Diabetes

Good Nutrition is a key component in managing Pre-diabetes.

Pre-diabetes is an early warning sign of the possibility of developing diabetes. A diagnosis is made when blood sugar is higher than normal and is often accompanied by excess weight. With proper management, that includes a well balanced diet, it is possible to delay or even prevent the onset of Type 2 Diabetes. Focus on a low fat, low calorie diet to promote weight loss. Even a modest weight loss of 5 to 10% of total body weight has shown to have a positive impact on management of pre-diabetes.
